@Benjamin Asamoah Congratulations bro. I have a question bro. What is the time duration between when your case was sent to NVC to when case was sent to Embassy in Ghana?

@Dee Bee Thank you. My case was approved on August 28, 2024 and was sent to the NVC on September 30. And luckily it was sent to the US Embassy in Ghana today. I’m waiting for a mail from the Embassy because my status says case is in transit. As soon as the Embassy receives my case, I’m hopeful I’ll get an email containing instructions and other important informations. I wish you good luck on your immigration journey.

Everything will work out good for you brother . Question: I am not sure but I heard for K1 visa the embassy does schedule interview days for the beneficiary . So the beneficiary does not have to look for an interview date . How true is this please .Thank you !

@Dee Bee I’m not sure about the interview schedules but from what I know , the email NVC sent me stated that the NVC provided me with an Interview date which I’m sure will be communicated to me when the Embassy Receives my case and is ready to process it. What is your case like? Do you have a K1 Petition filed ?

@Dee Bee From the look of things, my attorney has not communicated to us about starting to file, but articles online shows you can start filing for your DS-160 but I would want to receive direct information from the Embassy and my attorney before I start anything. I wish you all the best bro.

@Benjamin Asamoah how are you doing brother ? Did you end up scheduling an interview or did the embassy schedule it for you ?

@Daril N I contacted the Embassy about my interview date and they got back to me stating to me that, all immigrant visa applicants will undergo a pre screening routine 3 weeks ahead of my interview date. For now I haven’t scheduled an appointment yet because I’m still waiting for them to give me an appointment date which they said I should be watching out for but I’m not sure when is coming.

How long does it take for the pre screening and embassy to schedule the interview ? is there a backlog or anything with the embassy ? I would be glad if you could explain to me . Wity the scheduling are they going to tell you or you do it yourself? I just want to know how the process goes from ‘ Case Ready’ to to going for interviews/ scheduling for interview after filling the DS 160.

@Dee Bee I’m still waiting for the embassy to contact me. Like I said when I contacted them, they told me i should be patient they will contact me if my application is ready for an interview. So I’m still waiting for their response.

@Dee Bee I’ve successfully attended my pre-screening and done my medical exam and my final interview is somewhere around the end of January. I’m sorry but I can’t put the date out.

@Fatma Salim My petition was officially filed on the 28th February and got approved on August 06, sent to the NVC for visa processing on August 28th and got my interview date in the month of October.

How long after the interview did it take the embassy to notify you by email that your passport is ready . I’m a little confused. I haven’t heard anything and its still. thanks congratulations again !

@Dee Bee Sorry for late reply bro, I’ve been busy. After my interview, my status changed to approved in a week and then it changed to issued in about 3 days later. When your passport is ready for pickup, OIS which is the party that’s handling passport delivery to applicants on behalf of the U.S. embassy will send you an email stating that your passport is ready for pick up at your preferred location.
