NVC QUESTION PLEASE HELP 🥺
hi all! I recently got my i130 approved and now we are on to the next NVC step... they are requesting translations for police records & birth certificates. do we have to get a certified translator? my husband is bilingual and knows real good English and he also has some friends that speak English as well, could we translate it ourselves and avoid the 300$? thanks in advance!

you do need to translate check the ceac on the requirements I think it has to be certified translation. I spent about $100 to translate my birth cert and marriage cert and contract to include notorization done in the US. My wife translated in Lebanon for $40 her police cert, birth cert and 2 other documents.

You must use a certified translator and may NOT do it yourself! We used rushtranslate.com. It's about $25 a page.

you can translate it yourself but you have to include a translation certificate @k benny
