nvc financial documents
Hi friends, I am a usc sponsoring for my spouse #CR1. I was married in July 2021, however, When I filed taxes in 2022, I filed as single. Will filing single be a problem when sponsoring for my spouse’s immigration visa? Will NVC reject it? Anybody that has filed single been accepted by NVC? Or should I amend my tax return and change status to “head or household”? My wife does not live in US so I am bit confused. -Bruce

you file joint when your spouse is present in the US, you cannot claim a spouse outside the country on your taxes.

you suppose to file single your spouse is outside the United States so it’s perfectly fine. I do the samething.
