NVC expedite
Hello everyone, Does anyone have the same experience to share with me? I have sent a request to NVC regarding the expediting of my son's case. However, they sent me this email: "To Whom it Concerns, We cannot expedite the processing of your petition, because there is no visa number currently available. The petition's priority date determines when a visa number is available for the principal applicant. The priority date is the date when the petition was: · Filed at a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) office, or · Submitted to a U.S. Embassy or Consulate General abroad. · (For employment-based petitions) The date the labor certification application was received by the Department of Labor (DOL). For more information about which priority dates are ready for processing, you can: · Call the Department of State's pre-recorded cut-off date announcement at (202) 485-7699. · Visit the Department of State's online Visa Bulletin at https://usvisas.state.gov/visabulletin. Please note that only the U.S. Embassy or Consulate has the ability to approve or deny expedite requests. The applicant should not make any firm plans, such as disposing of property, giving up jobs, or making travel arrangements at this time." what does it mean? Is it mean that I can send my request to the embassy? Thank you for helping me. #NVC #Expedite

Good morning, is what the said: without a visa number available you can’t request an expedite case. I suppose that your son is F1 or F2B category. However you can file a request for humanitarian parole with the form I-131 form is you have an urgent humanitarian reason for your son to be with you in USA. I hoped you succeed with your case. Best of lucks for you

Hello Alice, I think you are misunderstand the “expedite”. Since your category is F2B, NVC cannot expedite the visa until your PD becomes current. F2B is a limited visa category, so you need to look at the visa bulletin and follow the dates posted there. once your PD becomes current, than only can you request NVC to expedite and they can approve it (if you have legitimate reason). Right now - they cannot do anything.
