NVC 1099 question
Hey y’all!! Its been a couple months and here’s the updates. My approved petition was received within 3 days of being approved at USCIS. We got all the main documents submitted August 5th. NVC is taking approx 2 months to review and DQ your case.
Today I believe I would have been DQd but I received an RFE asking for all 1099s. My situation is unique but I have just submitted what I have, and it matches my tax return.
My question is 2 fold for those who have been thru the NVC process and received an RFE. First, how long did it take to review your new document if you submitted within 2hrs or the same day and secondly, if everything has been accepted will they ask for a joint sponsor later? TIA and PLEASE ONLY ANSWER IF YOU HAVE HAD THIS EXPERIENCE.

same time as initial. submitted a rfed doc on Aug 15 and waiting. uploaded within an hour of receiving the rfe.

Damn. Ok thank you. I was reading that it could take anywhere between 2 weeks to 3 months.. and that was the latest as of June 2022.. This waiting shit is ridiculous but I will say they are improving on their time frames. Today made 56 days from submitting on August 5th.

@Tracey M I made the comment 2 weeks-3 months based on a few people that I keep up with. I had a very difficult situation being self-employed , and was nervous about receiving RFE but Alhamdulillah, I did not and was DQ'd ... one STRONG piece of advice is IF you didn't give them ALL of what they asked for , for what ever reason.. even if it's 1099 etc for $5 EXPLAIN it, or another RFE almost certainly could come your way...if you did give them everything ... your almost there I was DQed 9/26 in 57 days good luck 🙏 .

@ Daajiyah Thank you for your response. I did submit an explanation along with an 22 page report showing all 1099 income. They have accepted my tax returns and tax transcripts. Based on your experience with others when do they determine if a joint sponsor is needed? Like would they already have said something at this point? Again thank you for your response. I am so depressed right now.

@Tracy M, so you didn't get an actual 1099? if not then okay explaination sounds right... also keep in mind they're not accountants they don't know about self-employment or 1099 they just want to see that the information is there( it's not up to them to interpret it). as far as a question about joint sponsor, if you check what you put on the line as your income, based on your household size it will tell you whether or not you're going to be required to have a joint sponsor . so if you're at/ over the income threshold ,joint sponsor shouldn't be necessary. please don't be depressed at least you had the opportunity to fix it , and It could be soon, but just plan for 57- 64 days please keep me posted.you for this ! good luck
