They paused all the cases filed by people from those countries. Keep running around here deceiving yourself, talking about “they are two different agencies”. @D H pls get pratical example .For the banned countries: All application filed within the state are processing but decisions are on hold . All NVC immigrant visas are on hold till further notice . it is so simple to understand . With green card you are advised not to travel except you entered on an immigrant visa .

@Joy Edward I’m sorry I though I was answering the other user. 😅 The ban is not affecting petitions within the US, only consular processing, as per the DOS. An immigrant visa is the one that they print on your Passport before getting to the US. Adjustment of status is not an immigrant visa, is an immigration benefit within the US, people confuse this all the time. The ban refers to: Asylum-based cases Nationality-based consular visas Security / travel-ban related immigrant visas Cases where nationality is the qualifying factor. AOS eligibility is NOT based on nationality. It’s based on marriage to a U.S. citizen/LPR..
