freedom of information act. I requested to see all the evidence they have on file and I got a response saying they approved the request and would be pulling my case to send me a copy. it just so happens that my case was approved 24 hours later

how did you choose all immigration file cuz I see a list to select but I don’t see all file in the list. to I have to select all the boxes or ?

Hello Katie. congratulation. what does it mean to request to see your entire file? does it mean they will send you a copy of all your submitted files ?

yes, they will provide you with all the evidence they have on you regarding your case. this will show you what they are using to make their decision and help you prepare for an rfe just in case. I got an rfe so I wanted to see my file but as soon as I requested my file my case was approved, interview waived

so the one they will provide you, will that be a copy or the original one you sent to them? at what stage can you request to get your file? anytime or there’s a specific period on which one can request to get your files?

it will be a copy and you can request at any time

I filled May 1 2020 and the only thing I heard from them is biometric reused and then I submitted N400 last year September and they said my case was transferred to NBC in July but when I called they said it wasn’t transferred so I’m confused. Did you get a lawyer or how did you k ow to request your file?

also will there be a sanction on you if you request your file? like will they retaliate?

I did not get a lawyer, I just found out about it on this app. there’s no way to know how the officer will fail about being asked to show the case but in my case it was approved as soon as the request was made so I’m not sure

I just went through all of my information again and found some old furniture receipts, a flight ticket receipt also a lot of photos and I sent two more letters of affidavit from friends

i did not, I changed to a divorce waiver after the rfe so I have to wait for the 5 year rule
