Exactly one year ago I applied for the I-730 petition for my wife. She is in the U.S. I applied at the same time as my green card, because I was granted asylum in June 2024. The I-730 process feels very quiet. It seems like nothing is happening. But suddenly, you might receive an interview notice. That’s what happened to me. My wife’s I-730 was stuck at “Fees Waived” for a long time. Then we got a letter in the mail. The online system never updated. It didn’t show anything about my green card interview or her I-730 interview. We had both interviews at the same time, in the same room, with the same officer. All biometrics for her were taken there in the officer’s room. She has everything now. Make sure your address is correct with USCIS. Keep checking your mailbox. You might get your notice very soon. two weeks later I received my green card and later my wife received her approved by 730, i94 also comes in the mail on the same paper.

Oh, by the way , We had an interview in the end of the June so we took -11 months

@Paramartha Pathak Some are approved in 6 months, some in 11 months, some in 14/15 months. I must say it depends on luck. I think you are very close to approval may be within 2-3 months after that it will take around 2 months for your case to transfer to embassy to be ready for interview. Then you will wait 6 months to a year depends on embassy volume for your interview scheduled.
