Need advice on tax filing
Hello family, I have a really important question and I’m a bit unsure about what to do. My husband has quite a bit of debt, and we got married in February last year. We were thinking about filing our taxes jointly and using that as additional evidence. But I’m wondering, if he files as married but separately, would that look questionable to a USCIS officer? Are there any disadvantages to filing married separately instead of jointly? I’d really appreciate your thoughts.

My advice for you is to file jointly, things has really changed about immigration cases now and Tax filing is one of the important proof of a bona fide relationship now…. you can’t be married and file separately… is a red flag….
