Name change during naturalization in Los Angeles
I know that in some areas such as Los Angeles you used to be able to change your name on the day of your naturalization since there was a judge present. I am wondering how it is now during the pandemic since most of the naturalization ceremonies are held outside or in smaller venues. Will I be able to change my name on the same day as my Naturalization ceremony in Los Angeles 2-3 months from now?

I think during the Naturalization.
Did you say to the Officer that you want change your name??
Tell me please when did you do your biometrics and interview??
Also the date when you applied.

I ticked yes in the form n400 that I wanted to change my name. I applied on march 16 and got the notification that they will re use my old biometric info. so no biometrics. case by case is different but typically in 2021 it should take 3-4 months to be scheduled for interview after they start the background check but again every case is different, some take longer. I am hoping the naturalization ceremonies to be held in courthouses again in Los Angeles so the name change will be on the spot.

Nick@ Thanks for your response and Congratulations for your US Citizenship.
Its much better to call the USCIS in morning to ask them how they will process for your name of change.
It will be faster by Naturalization to change your name.
You became a US Citizen that is wonderful and you are a lucky one😍
