N-400 with I-751 pending interview with no spouse
Hi all, I have an N-400 interview next month in Baltimore FO. My spouse is not in town on that date and I won’t be able to take her with me. Even tho there is no official doc says bring your spouse with you I see everyone said bring your spouse if you have I-751 pending. Did anyone not bring their spouse to N-400 with same ? Would love if you share your experience

my wife had the same situation. they asked her “where is your husband?” and she said that it wasn’t mentioned in the letter that she needs to bring him to the interview, and the officer agreed and proceeded with an interview. make sure all your paperwork is in a good shape and all taxes are paid otherwise they won’t be able to approve the n400

@Da niel did it cause any delays and she had I-751 pending in that time ?

@Pretty Patient thank you its a relief

@S D no everything would be find but she found out that they owed a small amount of money to irs and uscis denied the n400 application, approved the second green card. it took her 2,5 years to get another interview and finalise the immigration process

@Da niel waow but at least she got the second green card in that time. thanks for input

@S D yeah thay gave her a letter that the second card is approved by they never sent it to her so she never had it :( she fought for it for 2 years until she got her second n400 interview so if all your paperwork is good you will be fine!! good luck!

@Da niel mind asking if the IRS thing was news to you back then or you had already know about the problem of unpaid tax beforehand. Sorry could not put the question in a better way. I am just asking since I usually file our taxes through TurboTax since it simple for my case. I am glad her that I-751 was approved. Thank you!

@Adam T due to Covid there were some delays with IRS and she found out about that debt a few days prior to the interview - so yes, she knew that there’s a debt. uscis might not have that information but they do ask about paid taxes

I’m in the same situation I do have a pending 751 since nine months and submitting my 400 beginning May my wife will be in Europe at that time for a family matter, so wondering if I can just go without her ?
S DMar 17, 2024
@Joe Ndiaye there is no official statement that says bring your spouse but it is best to take your spouse with you in case they do an interview. I will see how it goes next month
