N-400 Approved at Interview – Status Regressed Back to ‘Being Processed’
I had my I-751 and N-400 interviews about a month ago and both were approved on the spot. My status then updated to ‘Placed in line for oath ceremony,’ but recently it regressed all the way back to ‘Case is being processed by USCIS’ without ever moving forward to ‘Oath letter mailed,’ and I have not received any RFE, NOID, or any communication from USCIS explaining why. To make things more urgent, I have international travel booked in two weeks and I am not sure whether to call USCIS to request an expedited oath ceremony, visit my local field office for an ADIT stamp, or both. Has anyone experienced this kind of status regression and know what causes it or how to resolve it quickly?

Had the same question and stumbled upon a Reddit post of people having experienced the same thing. There seems to have been a bulk update to people’s case status with this same wording. I saw someone on the thread say it could be due to too many case status inquires being recieved and the agency try to inform everyone in mass. I hope this helps you feel better. Goodluck on your case
