My journey is (almost) over
Today I had my interview in Irving, Texas. I got there 1h before and was called in at 8:20 (the official time of the interview was 8:45). Not sure if getting there so early is a good idea or not because there’s a sign at the entrance mentioning that people will be let in only 30 minutes before the interview. Anyways, it worked for me. The interview It was a combo interview (i751 + n400) - I got an email 2 or 3 days before the interview mentioning that I was required to take my spouse with me. I did so. The office was extremely nice. He asked me how did we meet, why did we move from California to Texas, and a couple of other minor questions. It was pretty much a casual conversation. Then he proceed with the US citizenship questions. 1. What does the constitution do? 2. If the president and the vice president can no longer serve, who becomes president? 3. What’s the capital of your state? 4. How many senators are in the US congress? 5. Why did the British come to America? Can’t remember the 6th one. Then we proceeded with the reading and writing, yes/no questions. He recommended my case for approval. That was it. It lasted 15 or 20 minutes tops. Good luck everyone.

marriage certificates, affidavits, joint bank accounts, leasing agreement, pictures, life insurance where the other spouse shows up as the beneficiary, updated pay stubs. However, during the interview no documents were requested by the officer. I had 3 well-organized folders with me and didn’t need to open them. it’s always a good idea to take with you as much proof as possible though. if you don’t have a pending i751, you don’t need any of that, otherwise take the time to print and organize your documents no matter what.
