My daughter's consular process has ended successfully ๐ ๐
Consular processing in Tegucigalpa, Honduras was smooth and quick. I would say Consulate in Tegucigalpa is one of the fastest around the world thank God. Her category was IR2 (U.S. citizen stepfather petitioning stepdaughter under 21 years old). She was D.Q'd on June 2023 and 2 weeks later she had appointment for October 2023 but we had to reschedule her appointment due to medical issues. Her new appointment was for January 12th, previously on December 21st she had appointment to check her documents the majority of documents were good, they only advised to my daughter for the final interview in January to bring more evidence about her relationship with my husband (her stepfather) and they requested recent evidence about our marriage because we've been married for 5 years and they wanted to make sure we are still together as a marriage. Also they requested pictures about me and my daughter when she was younger because I've been living in USA for 10 years and I'm still wating for my interview to be scheduled to get my green card. The evidence we gatered about the relationship stepdaughter-stepfather was: Pictures (my husband could visit her and met my family), western union receipts when he sent money for her, plane tickets, WhatsApp screenshots about their chats and video calls, receipts for gifts. Finally after 10 years separated, I will reunite with my daughter ๐ โค๏ธ.

damn, you haven't seen your daughter for 10 years... how old is she now?
Lisa ModhwadiaJan 19, 2024
@Ice Cream she is 18 years old. I came to the U.S with a tourist visa and unfortunately didn't know how to go about on how to explore different paths to pursue to get my lawful status. In 2017 a applied for a U Visa (still pending) and then I met my husband. At the time my husband was LPR and for that reason her I-130 took 2 years and 2 months to get approved. Thank God my husband could get his citizenship and my daughter's category was updated. But the Embassy in Tegucigalpa is one of the fastest right now. I have friends waiting to be scheduled for interview for up to 10 months or even years. Like Consulate in Ciudad Juarez or Mumbai.

@enrique galeano I wich I could help my sister to go through employment based visa. As you know familiy petitions between siblings are taking forever. Can you share some tips on how could you find a sponsor to apply for an employment visa? Thanks in advance.

@Lisa Modhwadia Hi Lisa, I thought she did get the green card. My case is an EB2 NIW self petition, it does not require sponsor as other visa types like H1B do.
