My AOS case was updated a few days ago to “Fingerprints Were Taken
My AOS case was updated a few days ago to “Fingerprints Were Taken,” even though I completed biometrics about two years ago. Has anyone else received this update after such a long time? Does it usually mean USCIS is actively reviewing the case, or could it just be a routine system update?

a lot of people got “fingerprints were taken” update since July 10. Either new background check system or they collected them for World Cup background checks cz DHS background checked a huge number of people in short time. just guessing if it was for world cup.

same my case was showing finger print were taken since july 2024 and i had to do finger print for my travel documents on June this year and three days ago my 485 updated to finger print were taken again, i believe they are working on cases.

same here, they're reviewing the cases after the pause lift. it's a good sign 👌

same happened to me on Friday 17th July. did my biometrics since 2023. Then yesterday it changed to ready to ready to be scheduled for an interview. an hour ago, it changed to Interview scheduled. we had our 1st interview September 2025 but visa numbers weren't available then.

All old fingerprint if it is over 15 months must to be reloaded into new system regarding to enhanced background checks based the uscis notice on May 27 2026. so doesn’t meant anything so far.
