Hi guys! My case is processing in Sacramento Field office for 1.5 years already. if I move to San Jose and change my address, will my case transfer or it will stay in Sacramento? it’s only 2 hours away. thank you!

That should not affect your case processing if that is the closest FO to your location. Anyhow, your case will only be send back to your FO if you need to do the interview, if the interview is waived whatever Service Center or Lock Box processing it will send the receipts and cards to the updated address. Just make sure to double, triple, … check if the address is correct and valid so you don’t miss inportant documentation sent to you. 😉

Open this USCIS website. Put your old zip code at the bottom to locate the field office it belongs to. Do the same for your new address zip code as well, if you get the same field office for both zip codes, then you absolutely don’t have to worry about case transfers. https://www.uscis.gov/about-us/find-a-uscis-office/field-offices

from what I've heard if you move you case is going to transfer to the new fo, in this case from Sacramento to San Jose, and you'll be placed in the new queue (somehow means you have waited for nothing while you were in Sacramento) if I were you I'll keep the old address and go back to Sacramento for interview since it's only 2 hours away
