military parole in place
has anyone info about the military parole in place? how it works, what we need to do for it, is it an option to be able to wait for the GC in the states, how do I need to enter the states to be able to do it?
I am waiting in my home country until the visa is approved but it would be amazing if the military parole in place is a option for me to stay in the states until the CR1 is finally approved
I just heard about it a few days ago but don’t really understand how it works.
thank you!

I have not heard of military parole in place, but I am also not an expert. I do know that active military cases can be expedited, throughout the process though.

@Lena S. The do have it but it looks like it is for undocumented immigrants already in the States.

I have that parole and it is not only for undocumented migrants, it is for those who qualify and have the need to leave the country for an emergency or visit our spouse while waiting for the green card, since in my case my wife is part of the armed forces in German

@K 🇺🇸 D 🇭🇳 thank you! and yes as far as I understood it is for undocumented immigrants I just hoped I misunderstood and there is a chance to be with my husband faster
we tried to expedite because of the military but as long as there are no new orders for somewhere else there’s nothing they will accept to expedite it

The application is the i-131
José R Mar 10, 2025
My parole in place is valid for 5 years
José R Mar 10, 2025
and I can go out up to 5 times a year for short periods

They approved me in 8 months but sometimes that permit doesn't arrive, because the green card arrives first but my lawyer submitted the form since I started my case and it was approved.
Lena S.Mar 10, 2025
@José R so it is for the people who are waiting for the GC in the states but have to leave the states because their spouse gets stationed somewhere else? and not for those whose spouse is from the country they used to be stationed in and now they are stationed back in the states?
because we met while my husband was stationed in germany and now we’re waiting for my GC but I have to wait in Germany until it is approved because he was already back in the states when we applied
José R Mar 10, 2025
So you are in Germany and your husband is in the USA?
José R Mar 10, 2025
Your husband can request a special permit through the US military or government so that you can join him and wait in the country.Military parole can only be requested if you are physically in the country, but it may be that your husband can request special permission for you to join him; otherwise, you will have to wait for the I-130. How long ago did you submit your application?
Lena S.Mar 10, 2025
@José R yes I am in Germany and he is in the USA
Good to know! never heard about that before, we will look into it! thanks
We submitted the i-130 on April 13, 2024
José R Mar 10, 2025
Look, I submitted several forms and I only need the I-130 and the I-485 on September 29, 2023 and they still haven't approved them. I know that sometimes things happen the way they are, but if you are not married, there is a fiancé visa called K-1 that they approve and you travel to the United States and they give you 3 months to get married and apply for the green card. It's easier that way, but I hope they can approve you soon or you can have a special permit.
Lena S.Mar 10, 2025
@José R it is just crazy how long it takes 🥲 I hope yours will get approved really soon!
I sometimes wish we would’ve chosen the K-1 instead of getting married first because then I would most likely be in the states already but some things happen for a reason…even though we don’t know the reason yet 🙃
José rMar 10, 2025
I could no longer see if you sent another message, the page was deleted, I don't know why
José rMar 10, 2025
Yes, Lena, my wife and I got married before she traveled to Germany. We thought that everything would be fast, but it is not like that and now with the policies of this president I am afraid to go out with the permit, but I also hope that you soon get your green card and soon you will be with your husband and yes, God always has a purpose, why?
José rMar 10, 2025
And we will know the reason when we are approved and face what follows.
Lena S.Mar 18, 2025
