Medical RFE while in the mist of major struggles
hey y’all! I’m just looking for any advise anyone can offer… my medical RFE is due by no later than October 12th. hubby recently had court for child support and apparently making $15/hour made the judge feel like he could afford $600 a month for one child, which has quite literally put us in a position where we can’t afford anything other than our bills… anyone know of anything that can be done in a situation like this? is there anyone whose had a similar situation and managed to get the medical fees waived? I know I probably sound stupid but I’ve been here in the USA since Feb of last year, so this is now my home… but if I don’t figure it out in time they start deportation and I guess with Canadian citizens at least, being deported also comes with being barred from entry to the USA for 10 years 🤦🏼♀️ I’m at an absolute loss!! any advise or prayers etc are seriously appreciated 🤍

@jimmy .. thank you!! sadly I’m in Kentucky, but I do know we can go to any state to get it done, at this point anything is better than the $700 I was told it was going to cost here lol.

actually you can get help if you live in a low income environment, they always get vaccine available for those who can't afford free of charge, after that you only pay 300$ for the require tests.

go to the state health department in Kentucky and get all the 4 major vaccines needed. it’s going to be free. you should get documentation showing you got all those vaccines. take that proof back to the doctor. I did that. and all the doctor had to do was to test for diseases like TB and STDs and fill the I-693. It cost me $300 only. Another way also, Kaiser Permanente offers all those vaccines free under their insurance. Get the names of all the 4 vaccines. Then call your insurance provider for them, more often times they will give it free. you still end up just paying $300 both ways. way cheaper than the $700. It’s $700 because they’re giving you the vaccines.

@miaa brown go on uscis website, put your zip code and call about 10 or 15 surgeons near you, I did same and got $280 in Houston TX. I have had all my vaccines at cvs prior to surgeons appointment.

If you go to the health department, majority of vaccines are free. Call around surgeons, get prices and make an appointment because you don’t know how booked they are.

I live in New York and I looked for a doctor on the USCIS page and I found one that charged me $150 and the vaccines and exams were covered by my health insurance, I don't know if you have insurance, but you could see if you qualify for one and everything would be fine Economical
