Medical RFE then biometrics

concurrently filed I-140 and 485 November 2023. biometrics also done January 2024 then 140 approved June 2025, received medical rfe and submitted response January 2026.
now February 2026 I received notice to have another biometrics. is this normal? how long does it usually take for 485 have decision after rfe? it’s been current ever since if that helps.

Did you file I-140 with premium processing?
Also, did you receive any RFE for your I-140 before it was approved?

@d g yes, i filed premium processing for the I-140 but only in 2025, that’s why it was approved just then. no rfe for the 140. but for the 485, after the 2yrs lapsed since it was concurrently filed with the 140 back November 2023, i received medical rfe last december 2025. submitted the response january 2026 then i received another letter this feb 2026 scheduling me for another biometrics

Thanks for the info! My I-140 has been pending for over 14 months now. Do you think it’s worth upgrading to premium processing? I was a bit hesitant because I’ve heard PP sometimes triggers RFEs. Would appreciate your thoughts.”

@d g worth upgrading for peace of mind. AOS wont progress unless your 140 is approved.
