Medical Expired
Hello everyone, I have a quick question. If my medical exam has expired, will USCIS always issue an RFE for a new one, or are there cases where applications are approved without requesting an updated medical?

@Samir ojha I spoke to a live USCIS agent today and my case was transferred from NBC to the local Omaha field office. I think I will be scheduled for an interview.
Alex XApr 15, 2026
@vitaliy 123 is that your local field office?
Mandem FCApr 15, 2026
@vitaliy 123 good sign tbh
vitaliy 123Apr 15, 2026
@Alex X yes, Omaha field office is my local one!
Alex XApr 15, 2026
high chance is an interview
vitaliy 123Apr 15, 2026
@Alex X I requested FOIA in January 2026 it said I was interviews waived , but in the last conversation the agent told me that my INTERVIEW WAIVER ELIGIBLE
CANCELLED and case was transferred to local field office!
Mandem FCApr 15, 2026
@vitaliy 123 inteview is the new normal are you working ? if all your documents are ready you should be good just hope they schedule you soon and you can get the decision quicker
vitaliy 123Apr 15, 2026
@Mandem FC yes I am working for my sponsor for 6 years from 2020! I started working on H2A visa then on 2022 filled AOS! I hope they schedule an interview soon.
s bApr 16, 2026
@random eb3 how long did it take from RFE submission received by USCIS to the AoS approval?
Alex XApr 16, 2026
Are you single applicant or with any dependents? Now all cases (CRP) they will transfer to local office for final review (include me)
GRU AlphaApr 16, 2026
@Mandem FC there was a guy who posted here earlier, he never worked. Working for sponsor is not mandatory, but I would like to hear from folks who are not working for their sponsor said the same during interview and how it went for them.
Mandem FCApr 16, 2026
@GRU Alpha not mandatory to work you have all the right to work post approval and that is what i recommend as well just when they question you need to be ready with the answer its not a big issue as how bdv and all have highlighted lol just dont do any crime and you should be good

my pd is april 2021 and still not gc i fillea mandamus lawsuit yesterday so let see
shiblee 06Apr 17, 2026
they may ask or they may not. i know someone who got GC but he was not asked to resubmit medical. so, it all depends
Samir ojhaApr 17, 2026
@shiblee 06 do you know when was the last time they submitted medical ?
Manifest LawApr 20, 2026
Depending on when you submitted your Medical exam, if it was signed by the surgeon general before before november 1st of 2023 then it is only valid for two years and if signed after the above date then it is valid indefinately. So using the above and applying it to your case if signed before the above and your case is still pending then there is a high chance USCIS will issue and RFE for udated medical.Unless you qualify for an exemption/waiver your medicalis required for uscis to fully adjudicate your case.
