I went to renew my license and they only gave me a temporary permit for two months in a piece of paper with no picture . I wasn’t able to get a id card.

you should try to go back to DMV and tell them you need to get a state photo ID then to use as such.

unfortunately dmv is very strict with that sorry for the question but are you Mexican? consulado mexicano can help you with it i believe you can call your nearest consulate and explain is for immigration purposes

I don’t think FL is too strict , I’m pretty confident if you explain that it’s urgent to have a state ID since you haven’t got the license , they can issue you one. It can also be that they only gave you a temporary paper because the physical card will come by mail, but ask them to be sure, so you don’t pay to get an ID if the license is already on the way! In most DMVs in NY we don’t get to walk out with our physical card on hand anymore , takes up 7 to 10 business day to get it by mail. I think FL too.. Hopefully you can get it resolved . hi guys just wanted to give you an update if anyone is in the same boat! I went to dmv I explain the situation and they gave a valid photo id card I’ll receive in my mail in about 8-10 days. also I was able to get my medical exam with my birth certificate. hope this can help someone else.
