Hi, we applied when my husband was a GC holder, then he became a citizen and we upgraded the category
fried to update this info here on the app but it didn’t work, still showing F2A

when you put in the request to upgrade, how long did it take for them to upgrade it? I just sent in my request to upgrade my i130 from F2A to IR1

@Lima S it took 1 month and 10 days , they upgraded the category and approved the I130 form on the same day

@xenia Tica How can I request to upgrade the category from F2A to IR1? Can it be done through the USCIS online account?

@Isanka Perera we called USCIS and spoke to an agent, he helped us to do it
but i’m sure that there is a way also through uscis online account

@xenia Tica Is there a way to contact a USCIS agent? I've tried many times, but the automated call system does not allow me to talk to an agent. Can you please share the method you followed?

my husband was the one who called, i just know that he asked for a live agent to speak with and we stayed on the line for about 18-20 minutes but in the end we managed to speak with a real person @Isanka Perera

@Isanka Perera I just did this last week. I was initially told by people that I’m supposed to write a letter to request the upgrade and also include in the envelope a copy of my citizenship and proof of i130 which I did. so I texted with an agent few days later and he told me I’m supposed to send in a service request which he did for me and said I should wait up to 30 calendar days for a response.
now this is how you get in touch with an agent online. type USCIS ask Emma on google and the first link should take you to their website, scroll down a bit and Emma’s icon will pop up and once you click it a chat box with pop up and you go from there. let me know if you have any questions.
To speak to an agent on the phone. once you call and the options are being said, say INFOR PASS, you will be transferred to speak to an agent right away
