Marriage based green card
My US citizen spouse (my wife) recently turned 18 after our marriage. She hasn't had a job before. She's still 18 and has a good paying job ready to hire her. my question was, how long does she have to work so that she can show her taxes and income. I read somewhere that you have to show atleast 3 years of tax returns and stable income above poverty guideline. But in my case as She's about to start her first job, how long does she have to work for so that the USCIS is satisfied with her income and tax returns? since waiting for 3 years is a very long time.

you need a join sponsor. A person who doesn’t really need to be a relative. your wife and the join sponsor file both form i864 and the sponsor take present all the tax info

If you are working and your income is good enough, you can use your income (but you’ll file a supplemental I-864) and then use another sponsor who has been working for 3yrs. But she must also fill an I-864 form as a primary sponsor(even though she hasn’t earned any income) because she’s your sponsor and petitioner.

firstly she has to be 21, secondly she need only most recent tax and back it up with yours. You need a sponsor that made a particular amount in a year. *cant remember *.

@marriage we don't really have a sponsor. My wife will start working soon and we're willing to wait. once she starts her job soon, how long does she have to continue working for proof of income? (we haven't started the marriage green card process yet)

@mademoiselle My question is, let's say she does show her most recent tax return, how long does she have to continue working to be eligible to show that her proof of income satisfies the income guidelines? Also, this is what the USCIS website says
There is no minimum age for a U.S. sponsor (petitioner) to file a petition for a spouse. However, you must be at least 18 years of age and have a residence (domicile) in the U.S. before you can sign the Affidavit of Support (Form I-864 or I-864EZ). This form is required for an immigrant visa for a spouse and other relatives of U.S. sponsors.

USCIS website says she has to make ($21,775). they would need her tax return from the previous year proving she made that much. for example if she files for you next year her tax return gross income would have to be what I previou stated.

Bro, to be at a saver side let her be 21. you can always get married at 18, use that 3years to arrange your documents. get her tax. joint Acct through the 3 years. you can both file tax as married for the 3 years. with that u can get your 10years direct.
