Marriage 485
Minnesota is so slow
But I finally got it and since my marriage was over 3 years I got a 10 year green card. I am very grateful 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
for all going through hardship because of immigration wait time hang in there. May God give you the the strength

i am based in MN too. got approved after 23 months. yes its very slow. finally you are greened, Congratulations!!

@Keynu sagar they will get to you it take time but good thing is you get 10years right the way if it takes 2 years.

my interview?
how should I put it it was easy but scary at the same time. I didn’t get approved on the spot. They requested the medical record a month after, I had it ready I was waiting for my second round of covid vaccine which I didn’t have going to the interview but I did after and send the results right away but still I got my approval after 4 months.
They took my husband and I together in the same room but interviewed us separately. The question were easy just regular personal questions, name, addresses, family members, work…
They ask me questions about myself and ask him questions about himself not vice versa which was easy. And the questions on the I-485 form like Have you ever committed a crime… and so on.
No questions related to the marriage actually besides wedding date and if we had any children.
But our interviewer had a supervisor watching him during the interview she was the one who wanted to grill us. Because we live here in Minnesota but my husband travel a lot for work and spend lots of time out of state so sometimes he will get an apartment to avoid hotel fees if it’s for a long project and his work will pay for it. But we both always on all the lease because I work remotely so I can go anywhere. But she didn’t think it was true that we even had both leases documents. We went back and forth on it for a while and she almost got into an argument with my husband but he was firm and consistent on his answer and said he could reach out to his manager if she wanted to. She said she will. At that point I knew it was game over 😂😂 but thank God.
After he ask to hand over any proof we had and that was it.
so it was bittersweet.

@Arie H thats crazy!! maybe thats the reason they did not waive your interview but glad you made it to the finish line! congratulations again. card should be in within 10 days
