Has anyone experienced this with a live agent?
One agent told me my case is at a local FO and currently under review and the other one said it’s at NBC and is processing and moving forward at this time. There isn't anything needed or outstanding for your case at this time. It is going through the necessary processing checks that have to be completed before a decision can be made on it.
It doesn't let us know which step your application is on unfortunately.
How do you interpret this contradiction?

same experienced happened with me, one agent says case has been moved to your local office other says case assigned to a officer and it’s under review and their website saying case still in NBC

it means the second agent didn’t want to help and just copy pasted the generic message without probably looking at your case page internally

same thing happened to me. the field office transfer information turned out to be the most recent and reliable one. A congress inquiry tends to be more detailed. Send an inquiry if you can.

it happened to me twice. live agent told me my case was at the service center another agent told me it’s still at NBC.

@owow dl yes. I chatted with a live agent this evening who said it’s NBC. then called the field office twice and confirmed it’s at the NBC
