Why DMV don’t want to renew?As a asylee you can get licence without green card and work permit.When judge approved your case you have rights to work without any workpermit

@Forhad Reza yes i went to dmv with my renewal letter and she was asking me for green card I told her I’m asylum and i still waiting for green card them she said i can’t renew without any those or my employment authorization my state Connecticut

I had the same situation and I fixed it! go to DMV again and tell them, to please request my status to USCIS through SAVE case check ( www.uscis.gov/SAVE/Casecheck) and when they finish the request imidate ask them for your 15-digit USCIS verification number. and you can check on line on the above link too. once dmv gets a reply from USCIS you will be able to get 5 yrs DL. it takes no more than 20 days. best of luck.

Okay listen carefully what Im saying.Go social security office with your Driving licence,Social security card,I -94,Judge granted approval notice.They will take off your restrictions.You will get a new social security.Just tell officer you want unrestricted social security.When you will be able to get unrestricted social security then you don’t need workpermit.After is better if any bigger dmv nearest you go the biggest one because lot of small office are not able to process our licence.Remember when you right no body can't stop you to get your rights.Both place dmv and social security office if officer tell you no,just tell nicely you want to speak with supervisor.Explain your situation to supervisor.I believe supervisor can help you about it.My workpermit was denied and i got everything this way.Im waiting for green card now.I have done everything with my i-94.So hope that way can help you.But if is not,this is bad luck.
