Letter from USCIS
Me again with more questions. We have USPS informed delivery so I can see that two letters from USCIS are supposed to arrive today (but often mail gets delayed, usually when you are waiting for something important).
My EAD card is currently being mailed, however that’s not supposed to arrive until next week and his card didn’t get approved yet. We both however did ask for expedite requests on the EAD, which both got rejected around two weeks ago (my card however then did get approved out to the blue after all as part of those bulk approvals last week).
Do you get a letter if an expedite request was rejected? Is that what’s potentially coming? Or can it be anything else? Our other SRC # doesn’t show any changes.
And yes, I technically just have to wait a couple of ours but I am just curious and this whole AOS process has me anxious.

approval notice maybe
Sa BeFeb 19, 2022
@Ben: But for what? Nothing in the system has changed except my EAD (but only mine) so it’s confusing that both of us would get letters. Don’t want to get my hopes up 😂
the blessedFeb 19, 2022
my expedite request went through but took so long like a mounth and a half but suddenly wake up yesterday and see card produced
Sa BeFeb 19, 2022
@Z K: I don’t think it was my expedite request because that got rejected. They have been doing some mass approvals for EADs last week so I think a lot of us where luckily part of that.
Ben GaloreFeb 19, 2022
sometimes they also send letters for rejected request
Sa BeFeb 19, 2022
@Ben: That was my first guess but my husband would technically get two then because he has two request for two different things (485 and EAD) rejected while my 485 expedite is still pending.

reject notices are quite random
Sassy AFeb 19, 2022
@Sa Be: it might be EAD approval notice or something else if it’s not the card. Well, you’ll know today for sure.
Sa BeFeb 19, 2022
@Sassy: But only mine, not his got approved. The only thing that did happen was that the rejected both of our expedites for the EAD. And then mine ended up being approved after all (after expedite got rejected). it’s super random.

cards are mailed in registered mail. it’s a bigger envelope and different from the regular approval notices / receipts. if the envelope is taller than the regular mail, it could be the card. it also does not show USCIS logo in the envelope (in case it’s a card). my cards always showed up in the USPS scan just as tracking numbers and NO images.
R CFeb 19, 2022
the anxiety is huge, but we got wait.
Sa BeFeb 19, 2022
@R C: It’s not the card for sure because it’s the same smaller envelope for both my husband and me and only I will get a card (we have received cards before). Just wondering if it’s just the rejection for the expedite request or something else (interview request?) but wondering why that doesn’t show up online yet. I bet it’s just very boring the rejection but one can hope 😂

I have the USPS mail person cellphone. everything very important I texted her to make sure she will not miss it. She gave me the number when she missed my son’s social security card. she is polite. after that I always texted her when I was about to receive USCIS letters.

Ours is amazing as well. nothing ever gets lost. This informed delivery is heaven and hell at the same time 😂 (I literally can see the scanned envelope but not what’s inside 😂).

check under your uscis document tab to see what it is.maybe they are asking for evidence who knows
Sa BeFeb 19, 2022
@I was made for this: I did but we don’t have a documents tab, only case status and case history. We already had a request for REF for our medicals, which they received (confirmed in the system) as of August. 140 is also approved… It’s all weird and I am bursting from curiosity 😂
Sa BeFeb 19, 2022
I can see in the window with our name that is says something about “We have mailed an official notice about this case…” Gosh, the anxiety, lol.

maybe its an approval notice @Sa Be
Sassy AFeb 19, 2022
@Sa Be: This anxiety is real. Y’all made me anxious to know to 😂. Is it around the time you usually get your mail yet?? Do you have your mail person contact # like @R C? 😂😂😂
Sa BeFeb 19, 2022
Haha, I can’t wait. Our mail lady comes usually in the afternoon (between 2-4pm) and we are about to go to the mall to celebrate. After I went to Canada last weekend to get my L2 updated to L2S and my EAD got approved we just need to get out of the house for a little bit. Will let you know once we got a hold of the letters.
Sassy AFeb 19, 2022
This is well deserved @Sa Be. Please go celebrate and have fun. Forget about theses notices for now. Whatever they may be, there is nothing else you can do right this moment to prevent what had already happened lol. When you guys come back you will deal with it. But let us know what are they. Enjoy.

my wife’s EAD (NBC) was appproved on the 15, the 16 it was being produced, on the 17th it was mailed and today it came in the mail. two mails came in, one is the approval letter and the second contained her EAD card with Advanced Parole.
Sa BeFeb 19, 2022
it’s not the EAd card because that I can track. and the letters would both be addressed to me, not one to me other one to my husband.
Sa BeFeb 19, 2022
The mail was here. It was the approval letter for both of our EADs. The cards will come next week. I knew mine was coming however husbands still says as “expedite request rejected” in the system. So this came as a positive surprise.
While this time the card is NOT a combo card like last time, at least it’s valid for two, not one year, which is also great (I wasn’t sure if our EADs were impacted by this change as well).
Now let’s hope SRC will finally move forward with Greencards (but at least we don’t have to worry about work permits for the next 2.5 years).
Sassy AFeb 19, 2022
Great news and surprise. I had a feeling that it was EAD approval. Congratulations to you both. You guys are not gonna even use them for that long as your GCs should be ready soon. I’m happy for you.
Sa BeFeb 19, 2022
I hope it so much. I keep tracking the statistics and I “think” they are slowly moving to the SRC209033 series… I am such a type A personality that those deadlines always worry me so much that it gets mentally really challenging. Especially as three little ones are involved.
Sassy AFeb 19, 2022
@Sa Be: I know exactly what you mean as my husband, the main household bread winner, is 1 wk away from work stoppage, on the date of our 3rd child’s 1st birthday. We’ve done almost all we can but nothing has worked yet. It’s beyond stressful. I haven’t seen any cases close to SRC219025xxxx. I’m trying to take it one day at a time.
