leaving Job in the middle
Hello everyone 👋 I have heard that there are more interviews happening lately on our unskilled category. Those who have discontinued their work with their employer after working for few years in past or those not working currently are facing consequences. what are your thoughts on this ? and what would you have done if you have discontinued working with your employer at the time of interview? please put your valuable insights in above situation. Is hiring a lawyer for interview a wise option or that doesn’t change anything ? P.S I am planning to get back to job as my PD is going to be current this visa bulletin. I suggest everyone to ask Emma where there I-485 case is ? because lately cases that are closer to getting current are being transferred to field offices. This happened to mine and few others that I know . Good thing about field office is there will be more likely a prompt action on your case. A down side is a higher chances of interview. Thank you !

@January 2021 @Murphy Jr very weird because no one has to work for the sponsor before get the final approval. same with consular process
GB BSep 1, 2025
@January 2021 @Murphy Jr also I haven’t hear about denials solely because it.
Mark WhiteSep 1, 2025
@Murphy Jr You are not obligated to work for your sponsor before getting your green card. BDV and othe slum companies are making applicant work for the sponsor because applicants are too gullible and believe everything they say. I agree with @GB B I haven’t heard of such denial scenarios. I recently had my interview and I have not worked with my sponsor. Whoever is telling you these things is just trying to scare you!
December 2020Sep 1, 2025
@Mark White why should i try to scare him or misleading him am talking about whoever worked than stop working for a year or more than has his interview will raise suspicions and in some cases their i 485 was denied so don’t be acting here like you are an immigration officer @GB B I know two people who worked after they got their work permit for a year then stopped working after another year and half they had their interview when they took their old pay stubs the officer has asked them why did worked for a year and then moved to a different state and stopped working for 1 year and half if your attention was to stay working for your sponsor and his case was denied you have the right to start working until you receive your green card but if you work before you get your green card then you stop will raise suspicions

@Mark White can you share a little about how did you Handel the question if it was asked during your interview about your sponser and Job that you haven’t joined yet ?
PD: Oct 2021Sep 1, 2025
the officer didn’t ask me why I stopped working for my sponsor. he asked if I have plan to move to sponsor location. Check my post for more details
Mark WhiteSep 2, 2025
@January 2021 I did not even mention you in my post! Please keep your negativity to yourself! I have better things to do than pick fight with you in this app!
Mark WhiteSep 2, 2025
@Murphy Jr Sure! Majority of the time these questions will not even be asked. If you’re asked about it, just tell the officer that you have made arrangements with your sponsor to work after getting your green card again. I personally had a baby recently so I would have brought that up. If you wanna be on the safe side then please do a good research on your sponsor but for you this is not applicable as you have already worked for your sponsor and know them well. Know the avegrage rent in the area so that you can let the officer know that you will move again after getting the green card. Hope the interview goes well for you! Good luck

December 2020Sep 2, 2025
@Mark White my apologies i thought you mentioned me i am not trying spread any negativity just trying to share what i know about a friends
Mark WhiteSep 2, 2025
@January 2021 no worries. My apologies as well. BDV has been spreading these lies so my intention was to bring this up. We all need to stay united and help each other, especially applicants who have later PDs. 😊
