If you voluntary depart the US while you had a pending asylum case, is it possible to return to the USA on a different visa type?

@Zack M technically it’s possible to get a visa but is it realistic? Consult an experienced immigration attorney before you make such a choice.

I think it depends on whether you had another valid status while Asylum was pending. If you did, then leaving the country was an automatic abandonment of the asylum case. If not, then you were out of status, and depending on how long you were out of status for, you'd get a ban from reentry ranging from 3 years to permanent. An immigration attorney would be the best resource to ask this to.
