k3
any thoughts on whether the k3 would be a red flag if you’ve only been married a few months before filing the i130 to begin with. I’m usc and keep hearing about the k3 being used to jump the line but worried it might put my 130 in jeopardy for denial because we’ve only been married 2 months. any one have a similar situation and still filed the k3? any success with k3 speeding up the process?

@almaz t The K3 is basically obsolete, I wouldn’t waste my time with it.

@kristen B it’s more used to jump in line. apparently they just approve the i130 instead when they see the k3 application come in. they just review the i130 and reject the k3. a lot of people feel like the k3 helped get their case approved faster so I was curious to see if anyone did it recently.

@Kristen B you are correct, it is useless I submitted a k3 and they rejected me and I am still waiting for my approval.

@Marcia matthews Yup it is useless. @almaz t It will not jump you in line, I’m not sure who told you that but it doesn’t work like that unfortunately.

I don’t believe the k3 would negatively affect your approval on i130. some people say that k3 helped their i130 get approved faster. so i say that you should apply for k3 visa. you can try and hopefully it works for you. you will not lose anything if you try. good luck

@Feb 2023 Filing fees, time, extra stress there are several things to lose. The K3 will not negatively impact the I-130 but it will not jump you in line at all and won’t help.

@Kristen B There are no filing fees for k3 visa. and for the i129f application, you just copy whatever info you had for i130, and a copy of the receipt notice. so what time and stress are you talking about? We cannot deny the fact that the k3 did help some people and made them get an approval faster.

@Feb 2023 The magic of the K3 visa speeding up the process for the I130 ended well over a year ago… I’m not sure if this person is using a lawyer or not, time = money. Stress can come from false hope. The K3 is basically obsolete otherwise everyone would do it
