K1 Visa backlog
Hello everyone, has anyone interviewed for K1 at the US embassy in Senegal recently ? Waiting to schedule an appointment at the US consulate in Dakar, Senegal. There has been no interview slots available for two weeks now. Need some information please. Thanks

We just had a K1 interview in Senegal. Here is our timeline after Ready Status:
Aug 3: Ready
Aug 16: Received Instructions from Embassy and Immediately responded (we had already taken all the steps)
September 13: Slot opens to allow payment. It appears as an appointment, but it is a pay by date for $265 visa payment at EcoBank.
Sept 14 Payment made
Sept 19 Interview Slot Opened
Sept 20/23 Medical Exam
Sept 25 Pick up completed medical packet
Sept 26 Interview/Approval
Oct 4 Visa Picked up

@Destiny H thank you and congratulations! We have made payment already two/three weeks ago. Now waiting for slots to open so we could schedule one.

@f d That is really weird. sounds like you paid when we did. The calendar opened just days after payment confirmation. There was only one day to select at that time. I looked at October, but there were no dates to select at that time.

@Destiny H looking at your timeline, we paid on the same day. However, I couldn’t choose Sept 19th cos I did not so my medical and my passport needed to be renewed. The calendar is still not opened, I’ve been checking everyday.

@f d OK, now I get it. Keep checking, hopefully something happens soon. Just make sure you have your passport renewed because when the calendar opens, the interview dates are within a week or two. My fiance was able to get his medical exam started by walking in the day after we selected an appointment. He did have to return on a different day to continue the medical exam, but all was complete within the week.

@Angelia B Embassy emailed that they are ready to process our K1 visa. We’ve made payment and now waiting for the embassy to open their calendar to enable us book an interview.

@Destiny H Hello……my passport is renewed. Do I go ahead and update the new passport number on usvisa info? Please advise. Still waiting for the calendar to open
