I didn’t receive a welcome letter in the mail it came through email after 70+ days. One thing I would highly recommend after 30 something days of not getting the email. contact your congressman and have them do an inquiry for you asap to retrieve the nvc case number. As soon as my congressman replied and said he had made the inquiry for me I got the email from nvc shortly after that. Good luck !

Do you really need the welcome letter or the approval letter. and where do you need it, if you need one. I only got the approval letter both on the online dashboard and by post. Nothing like welcome letter. And I’ve started my NVC processing and they never asked for any welcome letter when uploading my docs.

Hi @Andy God, I already got my approval letter (I-797 Notice of action) from USCIS, and they forwarded my petition to NVC, now I gotta wait for NVC to send me a welcome letter contains my case number and instructions for the next step. How did you start your NVC process without case number from them? So, do you mean I can start uploading docs? I don’t have to wait for welcome letter?

I was sent an email from NVC, stating my case number, so I didn’t need to wait for any welcome letter. So I knew all my details and steps thru that. Till now, I haven’t been sent any welcome letter and I’ve paid and uploaded my documents using the instruction on my NVC dashboard.

The email you received, that’s a welcome letter. sometimes they send it through email, sometimes by mailbox. But I didn’t receive any email from NVC yet.

@Andy. What visa are you applying for? I-130 and I-129F are completely different. @Tresor. You are right, wait for the welcome letter from Nvc. In the welcome letter you will get a case number from them, with that case number you will be able to schedule your interview at your embassy when the time comes for that. I got the nvc welcome letter a week ago and yesterday I got instructions from my embassy on which documents they want you to bring to the interview and everything else you will need to prepare for the interview. As well as the link to schedule the interview once you gather all documents. To my knowledge I’m almost 100% positive you don’t upload any documents to nvc when doing a fiancé visa. Only thing I was told to do online in instructions was ds160.

@Andy yeah I-130 is different than I-129f when it comes to the nvc/embassy stage.

@Samir Cahtarevic, yeah for fiancé visa I don’t need to upload any documents to NVC, maybe DS 160 only that’s it. And I wanna know how long it took you to get your welcome letter from the date your petition was approved? Thank you

@Tresor I want to say 73 days to be exact. Contacting my congressman was a difference maker for me I believe. Good luck!
