@phi phi i have a question for you?
Suresh SinghJul 18, 2023
Which Consulate?
phi phiJul 18, 2023
@Jessica V thank you ❤️
phi phiJul 18, 2023
@Suresh Singh Phnom Penh Cambodia
A PJul 18, 2023
@phi phi where do you see case ready?
Although I received letter from embassy in a brown packet today.
A PJul 18, 2023
@Jessica V are we supposed to get more packages from embassy or nvc?
Jessica VJul 18, 2023
@A P You should receive the welcome letter from NVC. You can receive a package from the embassy, but it’s just saying your next steps.
You check the status of your case on the ceac website at ceac.state.gov
A PJul 18, 2023
@Jessica V we already received postal letter from embassy today.
A PJul 18, 2023
@Jessica V my case has been ready since 2 weeks ago
Jessica VJul 18, 2023
@A P you can now complete the DS-160, pay the visa fee, schedule your interview and schedule your medical (one week before your embassy appt).
A PJul 18, 2023
@Jessica V ds160 is complete. Will the letter that we received have interview date or should we pay fees and schedule interview?
Jessica VJul 18, 2023
@A P No, you have to pay the fees and schedule the interview yourself. Go to your embassy’s website. Create the profile and pay the visa fee, then schedule your interview.
Jessica VJul 18, 2023
Once you’ve scheduled the interview, look on your embassy website for medical doctors that you can attend for the medical exam. Then, schedule the appt with them for a week before your interview date.
A PJul 18, 2023
@Jessica V got it. thank you. would I require to have a copy of i129 documents submitted for the interview?
Jessica VJul 18, 2023
@A P What do you mean? Everything that is required of you for the interview will be taken to the actual interview. You do not submit any documents online.
A PJul 18, 2023
@Jessica V sorry didn't mean submit documents online. I meant physically have it with me for the interview
Jessica VJul 18, 2023
@A P Yes, you need to take evidence to the interview. Everything will be taken. DS-160 confirmation page, police clearance, NVC welcome letter, K-1 USCIS approval letter, etc.
A PJul 18, 2023
@Jessica V thank you! I'm getting ready with those docs now.
Jessica VJul 18, 2023
@A P Sounds good. Make sure to check with your embassy about what documents you need to take for the interview.
A PJul 18, 2023
@Jessica V yep. we have list here on the site but I was curious to know if we need to take letters and documents which we had submitted to i129 application.
Jessica VJul 18, 2023
@A P Yes, you need to submit all of that evidence (plane tickets, money transfers, documents, etc). You also want to take new evidence to the interview. So, if you have seen your fiancé since you applied for the fiancé visa (new plane tickets, pictures, chat logs, etc).
A PJul 18, 2023
@Jessica V I have plenty of photos from recent visit. How to take so much chat logs...there is tons of messages
Jessica VJul 18, 2023
@A P Yeah, you can attach photos from recent visit. Recent airline tickets. You can add video and chat log. For the logs, you can add the most recent ones. That way, they can prove that you two have been in contact lately and that your relationship is real.
A PJul 18, 2023
@Jessica V what do mean add video and chat logs? where should it be added 🤔
I have to physically print logs and photos right for the interview
Jessica VJul 18, 2023
@A P The recent video call and chat logs is your evidence. Yes, you will be adding them for your interview.
A PJul 19, 2023
@Jessica V how do I add them?
I'm taking paper documents to the interview
Jessica VJul 19, 2023
@A P Yes, you are going to take paper documents. You are going to screenshot your most recent video call and chat logs. Print them and add them to your evidence that will be used in your interview.
A PJul 19, 2023
@Jessica V yes I'm taking screenshots for sure. It will be a suitcase full of documents 🙂
Jessica VJul 19, 2023
@A P Sounds good. Make sure that you have everything that the embassy is requesting of you. Do not forget to pay the visa fee and schedule your interview. Then, schedule your medical exam in the doctor that your embassy allows. Schedule your appt at least 7 days before your interview.
A PJul 19, 2023
@Jessica V I will do all that this week. thank you!
Jessica VJul 19, 2023
@A P No problem. Let me know if you need any more help!
A PJul 19, 2023
@Jessica V will do!
A PJul 19, 2023
@Jessica V I filled the ds160 then under non immigrant visa, there is no k category but under immigrant visa there is k1 visa category.
Jessica VJul 19, 2023
@A P Select the K-1 visa category. It is weird, but before the interview, it’s considered immigrant visa.
A PJul 19, 2023
@Jessica V okay just wanted to confirm. I guess I'm in the right spot then. immigrant visa then k1. thank you!
Jessica VJul 19, 2023
@A P No problem.

@A P can u help us...ours was sent to cuidad juraez on June 6th 2023 we filles ds 160 but doesn't allow us to pay visa or move forward...it's been 7 weeks and no mail yet from embassy I have emailed them and no response yet.....please help I am so worries...I am here in mexico with fiancé...what do I do next!
Jackie B.Jul 25, 2023
@A P No word from embassy and ds 160 we filled but cabt pay it wont sllow us
A PJul 25, 2023
@Jackie B. after you fill the ds-160, you have to go to ustraveldocs and select your location and fill the form and details there but before that go to ceac.state.gov to check the status of your case. it has to be ready status. is there a embassy in cuidad juraez?
A PJul 25, 2023
@Jackie B. After it will be ready it takes about 2 weeks to receive a postal mail to your beneficiary's address. once you have this mail, pay the fees and book your appointment at ustraveldocs.
Jackie B.Jul 25, 2023
@A P it is in ready status but still won't allow us to procede. I have hired an agencia who fill them out and they jave emailed embassy she said we may be more ahead of embassy and that embassy is probablt not ready
A PJul 26, 2023
@Jackie B. your timeline is more or less like mine. You should have gotten the letter from embassy already. if it's not your city embassy, there will one embassy in your country which will be processing family k1 and iv visa.
A ALJul 28, 2023
How did u receive the welcome letter? By mail or email?
