well it depends on how how old ur newborn is. If he is a few weeks to a few months and you’ve applied for birth cert but hasn’t arrived… take the record of birth from the hospital. They know paperwork can take time esp with covid delays. 1)It’s important to take both children to the interview as it shows full pic of ur relationship. During my interview, the waiting room was full of kids jumping off the walls. 2)Take the birth cert for older child and record of birth for younger child and explain you have applied for cert and are waiting. Take pics of both deliveries with ur partner there if you able. In my case, it took 3 months for the birth cert to arrive so you can get a later from your OBGYN stating u and ur partner came to appoints together if possible, partner was in delivery soon or on standby due to covid and maybe how long a birth cert takes in ur area. you’ll be fine don’t worry
