@Anne Delle Hi, I am sorry that you have concerns because of where he is from. I really do not feel they look at people that way. There bigger concern is validity of the marriage and whether that person is a danger to the public (a record). Some service centers are faster then others. Where is your application? If this helps, I am from Canada and I am waiting just as long as other people. I should not get better results and I am not. Stay positive. This app has helped me so much.

@Kingsley B Hi Kingsley. Thank you so much for your kind words. My application is in California and I’ve heard they have laid people off and months before I submitted my application they were much faster. people were getting approved within 54 days to three months. I’m glad that only the validity is what matters. This app definitely does make the journey less lonely.

@Anne Delle my husband is also from Nigeria n we had 2 interview…Nigeria is a red flag which cause major delays for some…my husband case is from 9/21 I have done everything

k1 Visa Help(11months and counting ) hey everyone!!! my case is taking longer than expected is anyone also experiencing this? it’s showing my case has been sent to department of state for over two months now and nothing yet from them,the notice letter that was received already expired and it’ll be a year next month since we filed my fiancé sent a mail but they sent just the NVC case number and they said due to our petition,there won’t be any fee to be paid or documents to be submitted I wonder why it’s taking long please help,thank you in advance

@official pehggy that’s definitely different, I’m sorry to hear about the delay. The good thing is that you won’t have to pay or submit anything, so that has to help in some way? I am at the NVC stage, my case was sent there 2/3/2024 and currently waiting for a case number. I wasn’t aware that they are taking so long but I’m not surprised. Best of luck to you!

@official pehggy the only thing that has changed is that I have my case number to track it but my case is still at NVC. I’ve made a total of 4 inquiries to the NVC and they said they will notify me once it’s sent to the embassy and I’ll get the welcome letter but I don’t want my NOA2 to expire during this wait since I have no idea how long it’ll take. I’m not too sure what the wait is about . Sorry that you still haven’t heard anything as well.

@Adella D according to other filers on this app,they said they’re still attending to November 2023 cases my notice expired last month though so according to the way they’re moving,probably till august before any response comes but praying it comes earlier

@official pehggy ohh okay, but this also relates to k1 applications? I always thought they were faster but it’s all a waiting game I suppose.

@Adella D at this point it’s just to wait,I only got NVC case number there’s no receipt number yet so I can’t track the process plus they said there’s a lot of backlog in Nigerian embassy Aside from your USCIS filling,did you fill the Ds form?

@official pehggy no we have not filed it yet, would you say that we should go ahead and file it while we wait? my fiancé and I thought we could only do that after we get the welcome letter. I only have the I-134 form printed out so far. and thank you for the information

@Adella D please I’m really lost I’d love if someone gives me directions so the thing is, my fiancé filed 15/03/24 everything moving and dec 5 it was sent to department of state(I’m in Nigeria btw) so today I asked him to call cause I felt it’s taking long only for them to tell us that our filed date on their record is August 8th and we’re still within processing time mind you, they reached out before saying it’s my country embassy that’s causing the delay that’s why my documents hasn’t been sent down here please I’m very confused how it’s eight months instead of 13 months since I submitted last year March cause I was already optimistic that it’ll get to my turn soon since they’re on February filers now I just lost all hope entirely I’m drained

@official pehggy so they’re only looking at cases sent to the nvc in February of 2024?! if they say this to you, imagine me. Only God can make a way because this is truly exhausting. Who did your fiancé call to get this information? I received an email from nvc yesterday telling me my petition is about to expire but it can be revalidated at the interview. So that wasn’t even a clear answer of when the case will be sent over there.But hold on to hope for just a little longer, anything can happen.

@official pehggy I joined a facebook group and people who have been at NVC since Nov, Dec 2024 and even some Jan 2025 are already in transit. I pray that we hear back from them soon.

@official pehggy congratulations! you’re almost there! you should be filling the ds160 form and paying the fees. make sure you print out the confirmation page that showed you paid. make sure that you have all of your documents in order but they should have a list of things that you would bring for your document review interview. keep me updated!
