Just thinking 🤔 out loud...
Please those with cases @ the National Benefits Center NBC with no field offices that got approvals I need your advice. How long does it take for each steps? I am very worried cos I heard when cases are transferred either to other centers or to field offices, it shortens the processing time. Mine is stucked @ NBC center with no Field Office, does it mean I will have to wait forever before I can get response or approval? Pls advise asap, I am so frustrated here. #485 #131 #uscis

@JENNIFER AHANA Sometimes they would transfer your case without letting you know. They transferred my case to NBC last year, but since then the case was transferred few more times to different field offices. I found out about the transfers from Emma.
Jennie .Aug 4, 2023
@Green Green that's the point, I talk to live agents 2 - 3 times a week, my case has never left NBC not even once.
Jennie .Aug 4, 2023
& the annoying part is no meaningful updates except that my case is progressing normally & nothing outstanding, if they need anything, they will let me know.
MP MAug 4, 2023
@JENNIFER AHANA Did you call them, or you're communicating through chat? I don't know why, but chat agents would not always give you the most accurate information(based on my experience).
MP MAug 4, 2023
@JENNIFER AHANA That's what they tell everybody. I don't even bother asking anymore...

@JENNIFER AHANA My i130 and i485 are both stuck there too. My i485 has been actively reviewed since February and i130 still on received. @Green Green Yes these chat agents just tells you what ever to get rid of you fast.
Jennie .Aug 4, 2023
@Green Green I chatted with them last on the 1st of August & the agent gave me updates as of 29th July. I will call them on the phone today but, I assure U, nothing different from the updates they gave via chat cos their chat updates are similar to what I have on my page via USCIS website. To my understanding, it is not all applications that the move around like that. The least I am expecting is for them to send my file to a Field Office which means I will either get date for interview with my spouse or Request for Further Evidence RFE. I can get response directly from NBC if I am that lucky which means I will neither be requested for interview nor most likely even get approval without RFE.

@teetee fabulous my I-485 has been on "Actively Reviewed" since December 15th 2022, As of now, my I-130 is "Estimated time until your case decision: Your case is taking longer than expected to process. You do not need to take any action at this time. Your next step: USCIS reviewing your case Estimated time remaining until your next step is completed: It is taking longer than expected to complete your next step."

@JENNIFER AHANA That's the same status for my i130 😭
MP MAug 4, 2023
@JENNIFER AHANA I was able to connect with an agent over the phone once. He was very helpful, and provided more detailed information. I hope you talk to someone nice and get clarity, because I know this process can be frustrating @teetee fabulous absolutely, I don't bother connecting to the chat anymore

@JENNIFER AHANA for my process. I spoke to agent every Monday. it was a way of letting me know 1. where my case was and if there was any update Eg was interview waived when was it waived etc. I applied with my wife in September till January I was calling every day because of my expedited EAD request. after I got my EAD in January I called every week. when it became harder to reach via call, I used Emma. what I learnt about my case was. pD 09/20/22 nbc waived interview : 09/27/22 1st expedite request : 3rd October 2022 2nd expedite request : 13th October 2022 3rd expedite request : 17th November 2022 first two never got responded to. called USCIS and was told my expedite request was in front of an officer two days later got an email from USCIS telling me that my expedite request was ready to adjudicated on.. about 2 business days later on Jan 17th the EAD was approved. received the Card about 7 days or so later. let uscis rest for 2 weeks then reached back out every week on Monday. same questions every week. 1. where is the location of my case 2. has my interview been waived if yes when these are the only questions they can answer. in march was told case was transferred to my FO. By 3 different agents in April was told those 3 agents were wrong in May was told NBC had waived my interview again. June case finally transferred to FO. June 23rd FO waived interview July Case is still with FO July case returned to NBC JULY 31ST receive first actively reviewing on my wife's i130. we check the document tab and there is approval on there. i485 remains actively reviewing. contact uscis on 1st August, agent told me the case has been approved on 31st July. later that day get the mtn lovely case approved notice. have fun with wife the whole of that night. I might have broken my back and it was worth it so now waiting for my green card.
Jennie .Aug 4, 2023
Congratulations @him him. I have called just now but I couldn't get pass the virtual agent.
Jennie .Aug 4, 2023
@him him I was not scheduled for interview, it is when your file is moved out to Field Office that U should be expecting request for interview. U see, that is why I am very worried. same with the Virtual agent on the phone now giving same updates as the live agents & what I have on my USCIS account online.
Jennie .Aug 4, 2023
@him him talking with them now. My interview was waived on the "06-26-2023 Interview Waived".
Faithful GodAug 4, 2023
@JENNIFER AHANA Say “Lost Receipt” or InfoPass Appointment” to connect to agent. Try that and see if you can talk to them on the phone! Let me know!
Faithful GodAug 4, 2023
@JENNIFER AHANA Did your application move to FO yet?

@JENNIFER AHANA How did you ask the agent, so they provide about uour interview? my case is still in NBC
Jennie .Aug 4, 2023
@m-Mc C I asked the Agent if I have been scheduled for interview or is it waived?
Jennie .Aug 4, 2023
"06-26-2023 Interview Waived" that was her response
MP MAug 4, 2023
@him him Do you think that calling them every Monday actually helped your case?
Jennie .Aug 4, 2023
@Faithful God no, my application was not moved to FO. Still @ the National Benefits Center as of today.
Faithful GodAug 4, 2023
@Green Green That’s a good question.

@JENNIFER AHANA My case status on my USCIS account hasn’t been updated properly, so I am anxiously waiting for its acknowledgment of receiving my medical at Boston office:

@JENNIFER AHANA what bonafide marriage evidence did you submit?
Jennie .Aug 4, 2023
@m-Mc C I filed with my documents Marriage Certificate, my Spouse & I Birth certificate, Tax papers, etc. USCIS never requested any other documents but sent me a notification for my medical but never requested for it.
m
m-Mc CAug 4, 2023
@JENNIFER AHANA you didn't sent any pictures, insurances, bills?
Jennie .Aug 4, 2023
@m-Mc C I uploaded these online via Unsolicited evidence e.g pictures, insurance, utility bills etc...
Jennie .Aug 4, 2023
@m-Mc C the only thing I didn't upload online was the medical because USCIS wouldn't accept it if its not sealed.

@Green Green no it didn't but it helped me understand what was going on.

@JENNIFER AHANA my case moved between the field office and NBC. from what I can tell it is the field office that decides if you should be invited for an interview. interview was waived twice on my case one at NBC and then at my FO
Faithful GodAug 4, 2023
@JENNIFER AHANA When did you get your I-693 deficiency notice……not medical RFE?
Jennie .Aug 4, 2023
@Faithful God 12th December 2022.
Jennie .Aug 4, 2023
@him him "The reasons for transfer usually include but are not limited to service center workload, jurisdiction, interview necessity, relocation, or other clerical issues. Therefore, case transferring is a possible and normal step during the case processing period. Applicants do not need to worry and there is usually nothing much you can do unless USCIS assigns further instructions."
Faithful GodAug 4, 2023
@JENNIFER AHANA You will get your medical RFE soon!!!
Jennie .Aug 4, 2023
@him him I completely disagree with U 100%. Not all files goes to Field Office.
Jennie .Aug 4, 2023
@Faithful God I feel the delay I am having is because I didn't file with Medical.
Faithful GodAug 4, 2023
@JENNIFER AHANA I didn’t file medical because my lawyer suggested to wait. But I got my medical RFE last month. I am sure you will get one soon! Let’s be hopeful together! I am still waiting for acknowledgment and this anxiousness is consuming me.
Jennie .Aug 4, 2023
@Faithful God me as well. USCIS is a big time stress, I swear 🤬.
Faithful GodAug 4, 2023
@JENNIFER AHANA I totally agree. A job is waiting for me and I just need my green card to be approved!!!
Jennie .Aug 4, 2023
@Faithful God U can work anywhere with EAD I-765. U can fine a way to expedite your work Authorization.
Faithful GodAug 4, 2023
@JENNIFER AHANA My case is little complicated because I am a widow to USC and filing for AOS. I need to file another I-765 with C09 if I don’t hear from USCIS in a couple of months. I hope they will approve before that. If you like, we can keep in touch. Let me know.
