Just checking with you guys…
Hi everybody!
My second post here. My husband and I applied for CR1 on August 2022 and we’re still being processed by USCIS. « Your Case is Taking Longer Than Expected » is what we have on our USCIS dashboard for almost a year now. We’re exasperating but we know the process is long for everybody.
Anyone in a similar situation/timeline? Anyone who recently got approved? Just trying to sort some logical explanation about why we’re in this situation.
I’m welcoming any clues/potential solutions (except the letter to Congressman/Senator as we already wrote them and there’s nothing they can do as our enquiry date hasn’t been reached out yet).
Thank you for your answers and sending my best wishes to you all :)

@Pretty Patient I mean, I’m just gobsmacked! How is it making sense? I get some people may have their case sped up with an expedite request (medical reason etc…) but for the rest of us, I just don’t understand how it can not be on a first come first served basis. Oh well, there’s nothing we can really do anyway so… let’s stay strong!

@Lucas K Most attorneys are recommending filing a K-3 visa as a way to expedite the process. It’s free and it forces USCIS to make a decision on the I-130 because they will surely deny the K-3. I’ve found information on boundless.com to be quite helpful as well as a few attorneys on YouTube. I also joined a few Facebook groups to learn information about the NVC and consular steps. I agree that there’s no consistency with the USCIS approvals. I’m just praying that everything gets sorted out soon so we can all have peace. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

@Lolo Duru Thank you so much for your very helpful message! I just looked up Boundless for more info. I did not want to add more things to the already backlog and understaffed USCIS but it feels like they only have themselves to blame for that! I’ll consider the K3 visa I guess. Sounds ridiculous that we need to file a second visa request for them to do the first one right and in a timely manner but … oh well lol. Thank you so much and yes, I hope we could all get our answers soon and move on from this 🤞🏽

@Lucas K I’m glad that you found the information helpful. Please note that the K-3 will need to be mailed in after filling in the information on the pdf and then printing it out. Include the same evidence used for the I-130 and be sure to sign it. Complete and attach Form G which ensures that you’ll get a text or email confirmation of receipt. They won’t notify you in 24 hours as noted on the form but you’ll get confirmation in about a week and it will be dated from the date of receipt of your package. I also sent my package with tracking so I knew exactly when it was delivered. If you use USPS it will need to go to the lockbox in Dallas, Texas. If you use UPS or FEDEX it will need to be mailed to Lewisville, Texas. Follow the instructions carefully. I’ll update everyone if I have any success. 🤗
