Jumping Ship i-360 to H1B
Would you wait some 22-28.5 months- after waiting two years to get to this stage- for an i-360 approval (already 8 months in) and later, 11-24 months for an i-485 approval doing a job you don't enjoy; or jump ship to an H1b doing something you could enjoy and begin the whole permanent residency process afresh.
Tough decision for me.

the first question you have to ask yourself is , will you have the means to support yourself if you somehow end up out of status due to backlog ?

Good question. The current visa expires in 9 months. There's an option to extend it one more time for another 2.5 years. After that, I would have to leave the country, or get on another type of visa.

what would you want to do ? I’m all for everyone doing something that are passionate about but as adults sometimes we have to do what is necessary to move forward.

I'd love to do what I enjoy. At the same time, I feel I have given and sacrificed so much to get to where I am in line right now (cumulation of three years). If I jump ship, and I find out USCIS is clearing the backlogs faster, or the Build Back Better Bill passes, I won't forgive myself.
Nevertheless, the projected wait-time is totally discouraging.
