I’ve had them reply two days later, a week later and recently they haven’t replied to my last two emails sent two weeks apart. I think less than a week on average but the real question is if they took your passport or not. if they didn’t you might have some waiting to do. if they have it they often don’t take as long.
Sami ZainDec 15, 2023
did they give you the yellow paper and what was checked on it also do they take your passport or gave it back?
then I can tell you how long it will take insha Allah
j lDec 15, 2023
why did the nvc accept your affidavit of support if it wasn’t enough did something change ?
ahmed aDec 15, 2023
@Sara Saleh they didn’t take the passport
ahmed aDec 15, 2023
@Sami Zain yea the yellow paper it was checked on the joint sponsor. no they didn’t take the passport. my daughtes have appointments for CRBA what if I take it that day is that okay.
ahmed aDec 15, 2023
@j l the nvc accepted it, nothing was change. for 2022 my income was high but for 2021 and 2020 it wasn’t high. If the nvc told me I should have did a joint sponsor, but the accepted it so I thought I was good.
j lDec 15, 2023
@ahmed a that’s weird cause they’re supposed to based it off Part 6 #7 on the I-864 form where it says my current individual income which is how much you estimate to make in 2023.
j lDec 15, 2023
@ahmed a your 2022 taxes should’ve strengthened your case and 2021 and 2020 shouldn’t have mattered unless on part 6 #7 you didn’t put the full amount you expect to make in 2023
ahmed aDec 15, 2023
@j l part 6 I did but for part 7 I left it blank cause it was optional
Sami ZainDec 15, 2023
@ahmed a don’t worry insha Allah it will not take long maybe 7-14 days my friend was missing police certificate they told his to drop his passport after 17 days hopefully your will take less since it’s just a sponsor
also you mentioned that your income was high for 2022 but not for 2020 and 2021 same thing with me but they didn’t ask me for joint sponsor that’s wired
ahmed aDec 15, 2023
@Sami Zain I hope thanks
ahmed muthanaDec 16, 2023

ahmed aDec 16, 2023
@Wind Master yea I was with her at the interview.
ahmed aDec 16, 2023
@Wind Master my income for 2022 was 34,000 thousand but for 2022 2021 it was low
ahmed aDec 16, 2023
@Wind Master but why was I asked for joint sponsor.
ahmed aDec 16, 2023
@Wind Master yea I’m planing to take it on Monday since I have appointments for my daughters for CRBA. I hope they take it
ahmed aDec 16, 2023
@Moe126th they told me to email them
but I’ll do both email and I will take them that day.
ahmed aDec 16, 2023
@Wind Master yea I was with her in the room
ahmed aDec 16, 2023
@Wind Master no they didn’t
ahmed aDec 16, 2023
@Wind Master I will thank you
ahmed aDec 16, 2023
@Wind Master no my daughters don’t need the affidavit of support. they’re not a green card
ahmed aDec 16, 2023
@Wind Master yea
Sara SalehDec 16, 2023
@Wind Master @ahmed a doesn’t matter affadivt of support you have to compare how much you make and how many people you provide for whether they are your citizen kids, green card kids, wife, and if you sponsored someone before and they are still green card holders you need to add them to the math.
Sara SalehDec 16, 2023
@Wind Master part 5 in the affadivt of support
ahmed aDec 16, 2023
@Sara Saleh An individual listed above does not need to submit an affidavit of support if they can show that they EITHER:
.Already worked 40 qualifying quarters as defined in Title II of the Social Security Act
.Can be credited with 40 qualifying quarters as defined in Title II of the Social Security Act
.Are the child of a U.S. citizen and if admitted for permanent residence on or after February 27, 2001, would automatically acquire citizenship under Section 320 of the Immigration and Nationality Act, as amended by the Child Citizenship Act of 2000
ahmed aDec 16, 2023
@Ali Ali ان شاء الله خير
j lDec 16, 2023
@ahmed a @Sara Saleh Sara is correct your children are calculated in your household size because their dependents the thing you read that starts with individual listed above does not need to submit and affidavit of support is for immigrants who already in America on a work visa or another reason and they’re already supporting themselves
j lDec 16, 2023
@ahmed a they asked for a joint sponsor because 34000 is very close to the minimum of 31075 for a family of three they don’t say it directly but they don’t really want to see incomes near the minimum
Sami ZainDec 16, 2023
@j l mine was 26000 and they didn’t say anything about a joint sponsor
I think they just chose randomly who they feel like they want to delay and then they find any stupid reason
Sara SalehDec 16, 2023
@Sara Saleh why would they ask for a Djiboutian police report if you never lived there
Nasser HDec 17, 2023
When was your dq please?
Sara SalehDec 17, 2023
@j l he says daughters so I think they more than a family of three. so income is under the 37,500 minimum if he only has two daughters.
ahmed aDec 17, 2023
@Sara Saleh yea I have two daughters
j lDec 17, 2023
@Sara Saleh @ahmed a yea since your a family of 4+ then you needed to have minimum 37,500 on your income inshallah your joint sponsor comes through
ahmed aDec 17, 2023
@j l in Sha Allah. if I new that I should had done a joint sponsor. they lawyer told me it’s enough 36 thousand since im sponsoring my wife only.
ahmed aDec 18, 2023
@j l does the joint sponsor need to send me his wife passport.
Moe ArabDec 18, 2023
@ahmed a ,no just his id,citizenship and last year taxes with the w-2 form if he has it.
ahmed aDec 18, 2023
@Moe Arab thanks a lot
ahmed muthanaDec 18, 2023
@j l how much do I need to support my wife and daughter
Sara SalehDec 18, 2023
over 31,075 @ahmed muthana
ahmed muthanaDec 18, 2023
@Sara Saleh thank you
Sara SalehDec 19, 2023
@ahmed a for me they requested it and her signature. if they married nvc asks for it I don’t know about the embassy but I did bring a copy anyways
ahmed aDec 19, 2023
@Sara Saleh her signature on where?
Sara SalehDec 19, 2023
there’s a form i864a meant for the spouse @ahmed a
ahmed aDec 19, 2023
@Sara Saleh but he spouse doesn’t make income
Sara SalehDec 19, 2023
if it’s a joint tax return still has to @ahmed a
ahmed aDec 19, 2023
@Sara Saleh If you file your income tax returns jointly with your spouse you must submit your W2 forms if you plan to use only your income, or a Form I-864A signed by your spouse if you plan to use your household income. look what is says.
