Omair - it is normal. chances are you may be receiving some good news soon. some cases stay on that status longer, and others a shorter time.
Orla MNov 22, 2021
I filed 8 days after to you, in Potomac and being actively reviewed since sep 11. I think there is a few of us like this!

Orla MNov 22, 2021
CC B I don't think you can expedite when you are within processing times?
Orla MNov 22, 2021
kemal we have an identical timeline except I was reviewed two weeks earlier
Kemal CebiNov 22, 2021
-Orla M- I really hope we can be approved soon. It would be amazing if we could be done with all these by the end of summer… Good luck to us all.
Orla MNov 22, 2021
I hope so Kemal.
I an hoping for approval before the end of 2021. Because the next stages will take some time too.
Lilo PelekaiNov 22, 2021
Orla - you can expedite if you have a strong reason to, even within the processing time. USCIS will just decide whether they expedite your case or not. bear in mind that, "it's been too long" is not a reason to expedite even if it's true.

thank you so much everyone it’s good to know that I’m not the only one.
Lilo PelekaiNov 22, 2021
you're welcome, Omair. you're not alone. we are all in this together. 🙂🤗
omair shaikhNov 22, 2021
@lilo pelekai did you expedite your case?
Lilo PelekaiNov 22, 2021
Omair - I did, but I don't know whether it did anything as my case was going to be approved with or without it, according to USCIS when I called to check on the request. and I was approved one week short of 7.5 months the week after. (the processing time for my category is 2.5-7.5 months).
omair shaikhNov 22, 2021
what was the reason you provided so I can try to expedite my case as well.
Lilo PelekaiNov 22, 2021
financial loss to a person (me). I had a job offer from August 6, and then on October 25, I was given a November 5 deadline to provide a proper documentation or lose the job opportunity. I expedited on October 26.
it turned out I only needed to provide my REAL ID driver's license to the employer and not the new EAD as I thought (my previous one was and is still valid with the 180 extension). so at the end, even the expedite was not necessary in my case. I was approved on November 9 for the new EAD. at that time my new employer had already accepted my ID as an approved document.
but again it is highly possible that the expedite did nothing in my case as with or without it I was getting it. but on the same day they approved my EAD application, they also sent me an email that they took action on my expedite request (without asking me for any documents). so, it might have helped or it might have not. I got the EAD either way. 🙂

I have to add that I also had my congresswoman expedite on my behalf after I did, and I sent her all documents to prove my claims, including my expedite case number. so, there's possiblity either expedite did the trick or not. after I got approved on my EAD I never checked with the Congresswoman whether her expedite request went anywhere. I was just happy to get that EAD speed after almost 7.5 months. 😂
