Is it ok not to change my address if we move to a different state? I won't mind flying back to my old state just to do the interview. My old address is also addressed in my in-law's house.
We are moving in the First week of October and I don't know what to do if suddenly my interview gets scheduled.🤔
If I get scheduled before we move to a different state should I change my address or just keep my old address and just fly back to do the interview?
can anyone share some experiences or opinions? Thank you!

I would suggest you research the processing time of each local office, go for the one process things faster. some local offices only take few months to get everything done but some takes forever.

I consulted an attorney about this and below is what he told me:
“if you change your address anytime you have the legal duty to inform the USCIS within 10days of moving, and the implication is that if your interview gets scheduled before your change of address is updated by USCIS (which sometimes take up to 30days) — whenever the USCIS is able to update your change of address and the officer sees that you now have a new address under a different field office, your interview will be de-scheduled at the old field office and your file is transferred to the new field office that has jurisdiction on your case. The new field office will reschedule your new interview. And if you try to play smart by not informing the USCIS of your change of address — when you go for your interview in your old field office and the officer finds out during the interview that you have moved without informing the USCIS, the standard USCIS practice is that the officer will stop the interview immediately and transfer your file to the I-485 department will then reschedule you. In the worst case which is very uncommon, the officer can deny your case there and then on the ground that you failed to inform to notify USCIS within 10 days of your moving”.
There were other things the attorney said that I can’t remember but I felt the consultation was worth the money I paid for the consultation.

problem now is happening, even after informing well in advance they still schedule with old office, if you try to re-schedule you don’t know how many days it’s going to take to schedul the interview at new FO.

O David, Thank you for sharing! Did your lawyer mention if the rescheduling takes long again? or you'll start at the bottom again for rescheduling in the new FO?

When I checked the processing times
Denver FO(my current FO) has a similar processing time with Omaha FO(my new FO If I move). it's 9.5-16 for Omaha FO and 9.5-23 for Denver.

Joe Sam, they said it's against the law if I won't change my address. Idk what to do now.

@Mb; be guided by people’s experiences here or talk to your attorney about it. Try not to be anxious because everything is going to be alright…
