ir1 visa interview Rio de Janeiro Brasil
Hello everyone.
I hope all is well with you all.
Finally my journey has come to an end.
Applied for i130 on October of 2020.
I130 approved on November of 2021.
Applied for I-601A on December of 2021
And approve on August of 2024.
Submitted all documents to NVC and got DQ’ed on November 2024.
Received my interview date for Rio de Janeiro Brazil for 04/08/2025
Before I departure the US I scheduled medical exams and ASC/casv for photo and fingerprint, was told that I had to arrive 10 days before the interview so I departed on march 25 and got there on march 26. Medical exams was for march 27.
On April 1 went for fingerprinting and picture.
On April 8 went to the actual interview.
Arrived 15 minutes before, someone handed me a yellow tag and told me to go to the immigrant visa section on the second floor.
Someone came to and told me to organize the documents which I did. Another person showed up and took all my documents inside, 30 minutes later I was called.
The officer call asked me a few questions like.:
Where did you meet your wife?
When did you get married?
Does she have kids?
Do you have kids?
What do I do for living in the US?
And that was it.
Congratulations, your visa has been approved.
Instructed me to wait for an email to pick up my passport.
3 days later I received the email.
Logged into the account and scheduled to pick up my passport on April 17.
Bought a ticket back home fo the 19.
Arrived in the US and my wife and I went to the dhs officer which he then took me to secondary.
She looked at me, stamped it and told me welcome to the United States.
No questions asked.
Now I’m just waiting for my ssn and green card to arrive.
I hope this post will help someone.

Olá Marcos, parabéns!! demorou 2 semanas para o NVC aprovar os documentos? vc sabe se existe a possibilidade de expedite a entrevista? alguma indicação de hotel lá na área? abraço

olá jr, obrigado.
infelizmente não tem como fazer um expedite da intrevista.
recomendo a você o hotel que eu fiquei.
se chama Windsor Astúrias que fica na av. senador Dantas. o preço é rasoavel e fica 5 minutos caminhando do consulado e 10 minutos de Uber para o casv que fica no aeroporto santos dumont.

Olá Marcos, valeu pela dica do hotel. Depois de quanto tempo que vc ficou DQ eles marcaram a entrevista? Cara, moro na Fl e estou evitando até trabalhar pra não dar problema. Estou tentando me organizar pra ficar aqui seguro até ir pro Rio.

601-A que apliquei em março 2023 , já fiz o fingerprint em dezembro 2024 , estou ansiosa , nvc já me chamou esse ano mas quando eles viram q meu waiver ainda não tinha sido aprovado voltaram eu pra lista de espera ! minha entrevista também vai ser no Rio , se alguém precisa tenho uma amigo que é guia turístico ele pode te ajudar ! @marcos bicalho Did they ask for the police certificate from Brazil. if yes, how did you get it? is it from Polícia Civil or Polícia federal? or both? thank you!

@M S you are gonna need both of them. And you will also need to translate that to English. It has to be certified.

The translations do not need to be notarized; however, all translations do need to have a certificate of translation.

hi, you just need to go on line and download from policies federal and policia civil. no need to translate, if it’s in Portuguese.
