Interview tomorrow
Hi everyone!
I have my interview based on marriage based greencard. My local field office is Washington DC and my FO is NBC. For now, it's been 7months since I've filed so basically it was filed on Sep 19, 2022. I also sent my medical with me when I filed. Did not receive any request of RFE from USCIS
We are married for a year and I'm not sure if this is a good sign or a bad sign to receive an interview. The following documents i'm taking with me are listed below:
1. Joint documents
- lease
- car insurance
- joint bank account (we have two)
- joint tax returns of 2022
- joint utility bills
- Drivers license under same address
- marriage license
2. Supporting documents
- travel tickets + hotels (upcoming airline ticket too)
- paystubs for the past 2 months and employment letter
- 5 notarized affidavited letter from friends along with their scanned government issued ID
- both of our birth certificates
- photos
- marriage ceremony contracts (we haven't had our ceremony yet, it's next week)
- My travel history i-90 (came here on an F1 visa) as well as my F1 visa paper
Is there anything else I should take with me?
Thank you!!

hi Jelly, me and my wife have the interview yesterday at the Washington DC field too and the decision was approved. our interviewer was very nice. she didn’t ask for any of the doc we bought with us. we only handed her the medical exam that we didn’t submit when we applied.

@Ray A That is awesome! Congrats! Did they approve you and your wife on the spot? I'm so nervous right now. I don't think I can't go to sleep tonight. Btw, do you think this is enough documents?

@Jelly K how long did you guys date before getting married and submitting application ?
Ray AApr 26, 2023
@Jelly K yeah my wife got approved with a remove condition (I-751) since we also newly wed. I think your documents looks fine. They asked us general question and after that was mainly chatting about other things. My wife was so nervous checking the form and the documents until 2am. our interview was at 7:40AM. most importantly bring your spouse too Hahha 😁
Jelly KApr 26, 2023
@Ray A haha I think we all go through the same process - checking the form 10000times. I also have my interview early in the morning! Hope to bring good news soon! Thank you!!

It sounds like you've done a great job preparing for your interview and have a strong case for your marriage-based green card. It's normal to feel nervous before an interview, but it's important to remain calm and confident. In addition to the documents you've listed, you may also want to bring any additional evidence of your relationship, such as emails, text messages, or other correspondence. You may also want to bring any additional evidence of your employment or financial situation, such as pay stubs, bank statements, or tax returns. It's important to be honest and forthcoming during your interview, and to answer all questions truthfully and to the best of your ability. If you have any questions or concerns about the interview process, you can contact USCIS directly or an experienced immigration attorney for more information. Good luck!
