interview today
I had my I-485 (EB-2) adjustment of status interview today at 9:15 AM, and I wanted to share my experience to help others who may be in a similar situation.
I arrived early and was called in without issues. The interview lasted approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to 2 hours.
The first part of the interview consisted mostly of yes/no questions directly from the I-485 application (standard admissibility and background questions). After that, the officer asked case-specific questions, mainly related to my immigration history and employment-based petition. Nothing unusual or unexpected came up.
The officer was professional and thorough. There were no accusations, no trick questions, and no requests for additional documents during the interview.
At the end of the interview, the officer informed me that they would need to conduct an immigration review and discuss the case with a supervisor before adjudicating. No decision was given on the spot, and I was told to wait for the official update.
Overall, the interview felt procedural and straightforward, even though it was long. I left feeling that the officer wanted to make sure everything was properly reviewed before making a final decision.
I’ll update once there is movement on the case.

The officer said everything looks good and that she just needs to do a final review on the case. She mentioned I’ll receive the update through the app and by mail, but didn’t give a specific timeframe.

so funny thing is that my dependent was approved for a green card about three years ago when I started my case and I am the applicant and I just got my interview because I had my case in the court and I was waiting for my Deportacion to be terminated which it was already in 2024

It was denied because I needed to go back to fix my Deportacion, which only came back fixed on the 20/24 and then 2025. I went ahead and resubmitted a new case for i485 which hence they called me for an brand new interview

thanks for sharing your experience. Was your interview waived before? And is it scheduled later? I am curious as I see a lot of EB cases with interviews being waived.
