@w s ๐จ๐ฆ๐บ๐ธ In November 2023, I was told by a USCIS live agent that my interview was waived and now the I-485 shows Interview - current step 3/4 (if necessary) on the USCIS website. Found out our case was transferred to local field office; Louisville on April 11th by a live agent. Iโm not quite sure what to believe anymore.

honestly donโt believe a word Emma agents say. Iโve been given wrong information time and time again. Iโm Canadian and was told I was in line to get an interview, then the next agent told me it was waived and the one after that said my file was transferred to a different field office.. so what is anyone supposed to do.
in my experience most interviews are being waived for Canadians. Unfortunately for other countries there is for sure a bias depending on where youโre immigrating from. I expect yours to be waived if you provided enough evidence and there are no red flags (large age gap, same educational background, etc)

A message from my Congressman:
Thank you for your inquiry, dated May 17, 2024, on behalf of your constituent, Natalie Kerr, regarding her pending Form I-485.
As a part of a greater eligibility determination, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) conducts background and security checks on applicants and certain petitioners for immigration benefits. These checks are necessary to ensure United States national security and public safety interests. In some cases, the results of these checks require USCIS to perform additional inquiries or consult with other government agencies. When this is necessary, there is often some delay in resolving the checks, and it is difficult to predict when resolution will be completed. Please be assured that this case has not been overlooked. Once all checks are resolved, the Form I-485 will be adjudicated and your constituent will be notified of the decision.
