I-140 approved in Jan 2023
consular processing at Montreal , all paperwork completed and accepted by NVC on April 2023.
priority date is June 2001 from a previous I-140 approval.
interview dates still not available, have been waiting for 8 months. why would it take such a long time to get an interview? technically my priority date should put me in front of the queue.
Any ideas why this delay? has anyone experienced this?

Canada is having a huge backlog, along with the Abu Dhabi consulate. I think the estimated time was around 12-14 months for an IL. This is ofcourse crowdsourced, so you could end up with an IL soon, but be prepared to wait
