Interview Scheduled
Hey y'all!
I'm originally from Australia and met my now husband several years ago and came to the USA on a finance visa.
We married in July 2024 and applied for a change of status in August 2024.
I FINALLY got my interview scheduled and now feeling the nerves!
I'm hoping this wonderful community can help ease my anxiety by sharing their experiences with interviews.
Is there any advice you can offer or any questions that stood out?
Is there anything I should bring outside of what's listed on the interview letter?
Thank you all in advance βΊοΈ β€οΈ

Hi, did u file I-130?
From other posts, bring every single proof that u sent and also bring additional
If u have, Lease agreement, car insurance, life, medical insurance, pics, etc proof of joint account
I wish you the best π claim it and congrats in advance

Thank you!
I didn't file an I-130 as I was admitted on a K1 visa.
I'll bring as much as I can - which isn't too much, but I am on his health insurance and of course pictures of vacations, wedding, our pets that we have together, etc.
I think I relied too much on just being from Australia.. not many benefits to moving to the USA if not for love π
I really appreciate the support!! Thank you again π

@Jessica Signore oh ok, yes bring them, and also I read that they are watching your physical language through the camera when you are sitting outside waiting for them to call you after that be relaxed most of them said the interviewer was friendly
Qs to prepare
how u met
how he proposed
who attended the wedding
when and where it took place
how was the celebration
if u have any additional proof
what does he drive
whatβs his job
if u have met his family
who pays the bills
they may ask him if u ever visited ur family or how often do you talk them, what car u drive , if he ever met ur family
hope that helps π€

@Mrs. A. S π€π€ My RFE was for a financial support form because I initially submitted the wrong one.
My husband submitted the correct one - which felt like the same form, just different numbers at the top π but we got there!
I wish you all the best of luck!!

@Daughter of God Thank you so much for the information!
I think it'll go in my favour that they observe us through the cameras because we both tend to get giggly and goofy in super serious situations!
Our interview is in Memphis too and people there have so far been really laid back and easy to talk to :)
Thank you again :) it's really helpful hearing the information from someone who's in a similar boat! π
