Interview Delayed
Has anyone dealt with having the consulate interview being delayed because you’ve been married less than one year? I’m a USC petitioning for my husband. NVC approved our financial and civil documents on 1/6/22 but we were told today that because my husband and I haven’t been married for a year yet, they basically won’t schedule an interview until our one-year anniversary. We got married 5/29/21. How ridiculous is this?! If you’ve dealt with this, what did you do?

what state are you living? I have never heard about this thing? I am also married last year less then a year. I did biometrics (I came with K1 visa)

what??? may I please ask you in which country is your consulate? that doesn’t make any sense. do you have a lawyer?

My husband is in Morocco and will interview there. We did not use a lawyer.

that is strange we are waiting on an interview and we will hit our one year Feb 17th I hope the same doesn’t happen to us

I’ve heard of uscis intentionally delaying adjudication of a petition when they are suspicious of the relationship but not at the embassy stage. But at least your case is moving fast though regardless of if you have to wait a year after marriage. my case is just now at the nvc stage and we’ve been married already for a little over a year (we also filed right after getting married)
