Interview Cancelled And Notice Ordered
Received data (I-485): September 2019 Preference Category: F2B- Unmarried son of LPR Interview data: Jan 2020 Field office: Detriot, MI Today I have received an online update that "Interview Cancelled And Notice Ordered". But I had an interview back in Jan 2020, and this F2B visa ( Family, but not marriage) so, wondering if anyone has an idea what this could possibly mean? I have already waited long enough :( so a couple of days and I will probably receive their letter, but just wondering if someone has had a similar experience, I also, wanted to share in case someone will ever benefit from it. Here is the update for reference: On June 11, 2021, we canceled your interview for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, Receipt Number MSCXXXXXXX, and mailed you a cancellation notice. We will notify you by mail if the appointment is rescheduled, a decision is made, or if we need something from you

Yes, I did that, and I handed it to the officer on the day of my interview on Jan 15, 2020.

This is why I am asking the question here! I had an interview back on Jan 15, 2020, and today all of a sudden received a notification that an interview was canceled and a notice was sent!
Nene luckyJun 11, 2021

Update just now: "Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview" The interview, was good, I think! The officer did not seem to know a lot about the F2B category (the officer mentioned that, "I only interview couples/parents, you are the first one get it through parents") and start asking about how my dad got his green card ( he received it through my brother). Also, at the time of the interview my priority date was not current ( it became current two months after that, and I notified the office of this information). Also, since I moved out of Michigan, I am wondering where the interview is going to be scheduled. It is really confusing!

I’m currently adjusting status in the same preference category. I must say there is not a lot of information regarding the process for this category. Thanks for sharing Adam, I hope you won’t have to interview again and they just mail your gc. Keep us posted if it changes again. All the best!

Also if you moved and changed your address with uscis, they should transfer your case to your new local field office. I would call and inquire just to make sure everything is in order.

Update: On June 14, 2021, we scheduled an interview for your Form I485 ( the interview is in the field office in the new location (Indiana) where I have moved).

Yes, that is correct Nene! Another interview in a different field office.

why ?

I move out of Michigan ( the field office that I had my first interview ) 9 months after the interview ( I had it in Jan 2020 and I moved out in Sep 2020) and I did a change of address at that time and received a letter confirming that. Between the interview and now, I inquired about the case a couple of times, but nothing happened (it was within the normal proccing time). However, while talking to an agent over Live chat in May 2021, I was told that I have still the old address as my current address). Once I updated that, within a month, I received a request for another interview in the new location (Indiana).

okay good luck to you !!!!!! keep us updated

Thanks a lot, Nene! I will! I thought changing the address after 9 months from having an interview will never trigger a second interview in the new location!

Yes, once I changed my address, I recived a notice that I have been schudeul for an interview in the state where I moved in. Shortly after recived a mail that show the date of the interview and also another letter later show that interview was canceled, but they were referring to the interview that I had in the original state where I applied. I showed the letter for the officer, and mentioned probably just a logistic, and something with the system, like would not allow case transfer unless you send out a letter. However, I was interviewd in the new state and approved on the same day. all the best!
