interview
I am a USC married to a Canadian citizen for 13 years. moved back from Canada to the US last year. applied for I130 and I485 at the same time on 03/14/25. we have two kids (11 and 6). would an interview be waived? when I check the status it says step 3 of 4 is completed (interview waived).

In some cases interview is waived. I have a friend with two kids. He got his green card without an interview, caught him by surprise. however under this administration having the interview might be better since they may try to invalidate your husbands gc by claimimg that it is missing a necessary step — I heard this from an immigration lawyer on youtube.

@Eva diva It will not say interview waived, it can see step complete and can go back to not being complete. I am Canadian and was not interviewed. There is mixed info on whether interviews will be waived at all. I was approved December 2024. Do not listen to people saying crazy things, there is a lot of misinformation going around.

I'm Canadian too going through this same process plus EAD for the last 3 months but 13 years of marriage with 2 kids, if any interview will waived it should be yours, you got good shot. .
